About Me

Fizi Ali, known as Monitor Fizi in capoeira world. He started capoeira on year 2000 at his high school. On 2002, he attended First Capoeira Workshop in Malaysia with Professor Antonio Candelario from Federation of International Capoeira Angola (FICA). 

In 2003, he established his first capoeira club at Multimedia University Malacca. With a vision to promote capoeira across Malaysia, he organized the First Capoeira Encounter 2003, inviting local capoeira groups from various cities.

After spending two years in Malacca, he moved to London, United Kingdom, in January 2005, where he continued his capoeira journey under the guidance of Mestre Poncianinho from Grupo Capoeira Cordao de Ouro. During his time in the UK, he had the privilege of learning from various capoeira masters from Brazil, including Mestre Casquinha, Mestre Papa-Leguas, Mestre Parente, and participating in workshops with Mestre Suassuna, Mestre Espirro Mirim, Mestre Gato, Mestre Flavio Tucano, Mestre Jose Antonio, Mestre Nem and more.

In 2009, upon his return to Malaysia, he dedicated himself to spreading the art of capoeira by establishing and teaching at a capoeira club in the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Petaling Jaya. Alongside teaching, he actively trained and participated in capoeira events and workshops with renowned capoeira masters such as Mestre Caca, Mestre Marcelo Finco, Mestre Gugu Quilombola, Mestra Gege, Mestre Corisco, Mestre Pop, Mestre Junior, Mestre Eclilson, Mestre Fantasma, Mestre Pedro and more.

Driven to expand the capoeira community, he organized capoeira workshops with esteemed capoeira masters from abroad, including Mestre Eurico from CDO Australia and Contra Mestre Mascote from CDO Birmingham, UK.

In 2012, together with Mestre Braulio and their dedicated students, they officially established Capoeira Cordao de Ouro Malaysia.

In November 2014, at the Capoeira Graduation ceremony led by Mestre Braulio, Mestre Ze Antonio, Mestre Poncianinho, and Mestra Ana Dourada, he achieved his monitor level, a testament to his dedication and hard work.

With unwavering commitment, he continues to advance capoeira in Malaysia, striving to take this captivating art form to new heights.
